Level 45 is the current global cap in Aion 2, and the story alone carries almost all of the experience you need: roughly 97 percent for Elyos and 99 percent for Asmodians according to community data mining. An optimized run reaches 45 in about four hours, five to six on a first attempt. The real decision on the way up is how much side content to clear as you pass it, and this guide covers both schools: the bare-minimum speed route with its required detour quests, and the comfort route that grabs regional quests and sealed dungeons so you never have to walk back later. Start from the Aion 2 guide hub for everything else we cover, or browse every game on the site.

The route in one paragraph

Follow the main story everywhere it goes. It is the backbone: 89 story quests carry Elyos to 45, 88 carry Asmodians, and regional quests account for under 2 percent of total experience if you grind them all. The catch is the level 30 to 39 stretch, where story covers only about 70 percent of the experience you need, and the two class change walls at 22 and 32 where the story stops until you qualify. Everything else in this guide is about filling those gaps efficiently.

Required detour quests (Elyos side)

The compiled speedrun route only leaves the yellow story line for six green stops. If you play Asmodian, the same logic applies but the quest names differ.

Level Quest Where
12 One green regional quest Coast camp
14 One green regional quest Marsh legion camp
22 Sneaky Dakan, Blockade, Find the Runaway Fosa Dunda's Rest, valley outpost, dawn legion base, then class change
29 Side Effects of Transformation and Secrets Within Secrets plus its two follow-ups Abandoned Breeze office and Breeze merchant HQ
32 Too Far Away, then Suspicious Method Zumion village and Verteron fortress ruins, then class change
36 The Cost of Bluffing, then Back to the Start when it opens Purifying Hill

From 36 to 45 it is pure story again. The level 29 chain matters more than it looks: it awards a conflicting rune, which is worth the ten minutes.

Zone progression by faction

Community data mining maps the full path. Elyos runs Poeta from 1 to 9 (Daminu Forest, Clione Lake, Phoenix Sky Island), then Verteron from 10 all the way to 45: Cantas Valley at 10 to 13, the Ellun River marshes at 14 to 18, the fortress ruins and destroyed Abyss gate at 19 to 22, Tolbas Forest and Pilgrim's Ridge at 23 to 31, Altamia Canyon at 32 to 38, the Kraka footpath and Scarlet Forest at 39 to 42, and the Nahid Brigade fortress with the Garden of the Illusion God from 43 to 45. Asmodians mirror it through Ishalgen (1 to 9) and Altgard (10 to 45), ending in Black Claw Village, Lagta Fortress, and Impetusium Square at 41 to 45.

You do not need to sweep a region clean before taking the next story step. Most regional quests share the same enemies or the same clearing as your current story objective, so the efficient move is one pass that completes both.

The 30 to 39 gap: sealed dungeons

Each faction map holds 61 sealed dungeons between levels 10 and 45, and they are the intended filler for the slow stretch. A level 35 exploration entry pays roughly 1.4 to 2.8 million experience, about 7 to 15 percent of a level, and every clear adds 2 Daevanion points plus enhance stones and wisdom stones. Clearing an entire faction map pays 15,000 Kinah, 1,250 enhance stones, 2 Daevanion crystals, 2 wisdom stones, a title, and featherdown with statue scraps. The level 45 exception is the Ruins of the Ancient City of Roah: three bosses that drop 20 featherdown and 20 statue scraps each clear, while the 40 sealed dungeons in Eltnen and Morheim pay only Kinah.

Where your Daeva points go

The creator video's priority order is damage first. Work toward the orange damage nodes (cooldown reduction, combat speed, attack), then the blue nodes that raise the skills you actually use, because pushing a skill to level 8 or 12 unlocks a specialization that can be equipped from the skills list, and a nearby blue node that opens an important specialization beats a distant orange one. After that, contracts with attack increases. The data-mined numbers behind the boards: Nezekan opens at 12, Zikel at 20, Vaizel at 30, Triniel at 40, and Azphel at 45, with the first three costing 134 points each, Triniel 168, and Azphel 232 on its own point type. Round skill nodes are usually the best value while leveling.

Enhancement targets while leveling

Keep it modest on temporary gear. The video route pushes a meaningful weapon upgrade to about plus five and treats the shield the same way, since its attack stats still add damage. Skip perfecting replaceable pieces: extraction later refunds the booster stones, but the Kinah spent on the upgrade itself is gone. Swap in better armor the moment it fills an empty slot. One item deserves continuous investment, the Revelation Talisman, because it grows with you to endgame and adds weapon damage and penetration.

Speed school or comfort school

Two defensible styles, pick one consciously:

  • Pure speed: skip every green quest, bank the 31 recommended regional quests, and cash them at 45, where they pay roughly half of the level 45 bar. You arrive fastest but weaker, and 45 opens a wall of new content: the Azphel board, the fourth Ascension step, the story finale, Spacetime Rift regionals, the Silent Graveyard, Nightmare Altar, and Abyss access through the Draupnir quest line.
  • Comfort: clear the regional quests and sealed dungeons that sit on your path as you pass. Slightly slower per level, but you level in gear your quests handed you, and the creator's core argument holds: ignoring convenient content now means walking back for those rewards later.

Small travel habits either way: wings unlock at level 5 for Elyos and 6 for Asmodians, activate every Kibelisk you pass, mounts all move at the same speed so use whatever you like, and grab castle relics and feather pickups that sit within about ten seconds of your actual destination. In the Korean and Taiwanese versions the starting-area set totals 560 feathers at four per capture, about 140 captures, which you trade at the Monolith for talisman booster scrolls and wisdom stones: worth nibbling on the way, not worth finishing before 45.

FAQ

How long does it take to reach level 45?

About four hours on an optimized route, three and a half once you know it, and five to six on a first run according to the compiled speedrun guide. The 40 to 45 stretch alone eats over two thirds of the total experience bar, so do not judge your pace before 40.

Should I skip regional quests while leveling?

For pure speed, yes: story covers 97 to 99 percent of the experience to 45, and the recommended regional quests can be banked and cashed at 45 for about half a level. For a smoother run, clear the ones on your path for the gear and Daeva points. The middle ground in the Aion 2 hub route is the six required detour quests listed above.

What unlocks at level 45?

The Azphel Daevanion board, the fourth Ascension step, the story finale, Spacetime Rift regional quests, the Silent Graveyard growth dungeon, Nightmare Altar with level 45 easy bosses, and Abyss access through the Draupnir quest line. Skipping side content early means facing all of that plus your backlog at once.
